Dufu Pavilion

Dufu Pavilion.jpg

Covering an area of 6,000 m2 in total and 5,000 m2 in floor space, Dufu Pavilion stands in the section of Xihu Road of Xiangjiang Scenic Belt. Tourist attractions here include a main building, long corridor, stone-tablet pavilion, tearoom, tablet corridor of Dufu's poems, stone inscription of his poems, couplets and so on. In the Pavilion, you can enjoy a bird's eye view of Orange Islet, overlook the picturesque Yuelu Mountain and appreciate the amazing landscape city, Changsha. Imitating the architectural style in Dang Dynasty, the magnificent Pavilion is feature by its upturned eaves, bucket arches, carved beams and painted rafters.

Based on research, the location of the Pavilion is exactly where Dufu, crowned as poem saint, disembarked when he came to Changsha in 1335, and also where he lived, met friends and received gifts from ancient Tanzhou people when he was penniless and frustrated in his later years. The Pavilion during those years was constructed with the money collected by elders in Danzhou.
