China Red Star Design Award, also known as the Oscar Award for creative industry design was released in Beingjing Exhibition Center on Nov.18.The 1,000t all-terrain truck crane SAC303 recommended by Sany Group and designed by School of Design of Hunan University(HNU) won the first position.

In order to celebrate the production of the first batch of the prize winning crane, a ceremony was organized. Wen Jiabao, premier of the State's Council presided over the ceremony. The attendees praised the crane saying that it integrates state-of-the-art technology, features a giant body and looks like a running lion. Its elegant and modern design was also admired.　

HNU School of Design will continue to work on upgrading the manufacturing industry of Hunan Province and to help the industry set up its brand image. In response to the country’s strategic goal of becoming an innovation-oriented nation, the school will make tireless efforts to develop more products that are internationally competitive. Additionally, the school will strive to come up with novel ideas and register the intellectual property rights to drive the internationalization of Chinese design and the Chinese Manufacturing Industry.
