The 223rd Forum of Young Scientists of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was successfully held at Yuelu Academy of Hunan University from Nov.17 to 19. The forum focused on "key techniques in developing CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) software platform', which is a critical subject in strengthening the manufacturing industry in China. Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Yang Xiumin and Professor of Beijing University Yuan Mingwu gave theme reports.

More than 40 young scholars from all over the country exchanged their own research achievements and warmly discussed some related issues. The forum proceeded in an open, truth-pursuing, and lively atmosphere.

This meeting is expected to be of important historical significance in promoting the establishment of intelligent "soft" equipment of modern industrial system and an innovative design supporting platform in industrialization.
