The meeting for Hunan-based universities to exchange experience in their cooperation with enterprises and research institutes & the Hunan summer vacation symposium for university leaders was held in Changsha on Aug.15.
Mei Kebao, vice secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee was present at the meeting. He urged that the role of universities as a vital new force should be fully exerted. Universities across the province ought to jointly tackle key technological problems that hinder the overall social and economic development of the province, especially the construction of the "Two-oriented" Society and the advancement of strategic emerging industries.
All these efforts aim to enhance the core competitiveness of industries and enterprises of the province, Mei said.
Guo Kailang, vice governor of Hunan Province presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
At the meeting, seven universities in the province briefed the situation of their cooperation with enterprises and research institutes respectively including Central South University, Hunan University, Xiangtan University, Changsha University of Science & Technology, Hunan Agricultural University, Central South University of Forestry and Technology and Hunan University of Science and Engineering.
