The track and field events of the China's First Student (Youth) Games concluded on November 15. Under the instruction of coaches Yao Xueying and Mr. Yu Bin, HNU's track and field team excelled in the competitions, winning one gold, four silver, and one bronze medals. Three students were recognized as national-level sportsmen.
The China's First Student (Youth) Games is another important comprehensive sports event for Chinese college student, after the Chengdu Universiade. It is also a significant competition and also an influential exchange of colleges' sports work, providing a stage for youths to showcase their vitality and talent.
Zhou Zhou, a student from the School of Journalism and Communication, Class of 2020, won the first place in the Men's 4*100m relay in Group A, with his 100-meter result reaching the national top level.
Yu Shaohong, a student from the Business School, Class of 2020, won the second place in the Men's decathlon in Group A, with his decathlon result reaching the national top level.
Kang Xiaokun, a student from the Business School, Class of 2021, won the second place in the Women's decathlon in Group A, with her decathlon result reaching the national top level.
Yuan Meng, a student from the School of Journalism and Communication, Class of 2021, won the second place in the Women's 400-meter race, second place in the Women's 4*400m relay, and sixth place in the Women's 4*100m relay in Group A.
Liu Yuanyuan, a student from the Business School, Class of 2022, won the third place in the Women's javelin throwing in Group A.
Tan Ziting, a student from the College of Economy and Trade, Class of 2020, won the fourth place in the Women's triple jump and fifth place in the Women's long jump in Group A.
