Approved by the Ministry of Education recently, HNU has four new undergraduate subjects, namely Microelectronic Science and Engineering, Pharmacy, Big Data Management and Application, and Financial Technology.
Microelectronic Science and Engineering
Field of Disciplines of Conferring Academic Degrees: Bachelor of Engineering
Length of schooling: 4 years
The subject of Microelectronic Science and Engineering is oriented to the field of semiconductor. It relies on the national- and ministerial-level laboratories and research centers for power semiconductor and integration technology, semiconductor technology innovation, and advanced semiconductor technology and application. It combines teaching and research, puts theories into practice, boosts synchronous progress of subject and technology, and carries out interdisciplinary integration and innovation. The program will collaborate with a number of leading enterprises in related fields to conduct joint cultivation of top-notch innovative talents through production-education-research cooperation. It aims to enhance the research and innovation abilities of the students, and cultivate high-level comprehensive personnel in the field of electronic information.
Pharmacy
Field of Disciplines of Conferring Academic Degrees: Bachelor of Science
Length of schooling: 4 years
The subject of Pharmacy is oriented to the cutting-edge technologies and key sectors of pharmacy. Based on "pharmacy + medicine + biology" integration, it aims to construct a "new pharmacy" discipline under the modern pharmacy fields involving chemical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, biomedicine, and artificial medicine design. It will cover undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.
Big Data Management and Application

The subject of Big Data Management and Application is oriented to serving the new quality productive forces. It combines data as a factor of production with the demands of economic society and enterprise development, and focuses on the new goals that set for the subject in line with the national construction and enterprise development amid the new-generation information technology evolution in the new era. It aims to cultivate comprehensive innovative personnel with international competencies in the fields of national strategic significance and industrial development, including big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain.
Financial Technology
Field of Disciplines of Conferring Academic Degrees: Bachelor of Economics
Length of Schooling: 4 years
The subject of Financial Technology focuses on interdisciplinary study of economics, finance, statistics, computer science and other disciplines, and highlights teaching and research of the integrated application of modern science and technology in the field of finance. It uses modern scientific and technological achievements to transform or innovate financial products, business modes, and business processes, as well as cultivate comprehensive professionals adapted to the financial technology development in the new era. It aims to cultivate practice and innovation abilities of the students in an all-round way through cooperation with well-known financial institutions and technology enterprises.
