The IEEE 8th International Conference on Electrical and Energy (CIEEC 2025) was held in Changsha from May 16 to 18, 2025. Over 800 experts and scholars from more than 120 universities, enterprises, and institutions worldwide attended, including Tsinghua University, Nanyang Technological University, and Imperial College London.
Han Yi, secretary-general of the China Electrotechnical Society, Zhou Mengqi, executive vice chair of the IEEE China Council and vice chair of the IEEE Beijing Section, and Sun Wei, deputy secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
The conference featured seven special training sessions on such topics as "Non-coding Control for Energy Conversion Systems," 32 parallel forums, and special thematic forums including the IEEE PCCC Women Scientists Forum and the China-UK Zero Carbon Forum. Over 10 enterprises and academic journals set up exhibitions at the conference.
The conference was organized by the China Electrotechnical Society, IEEE Beijing Section, and HNU, with technical sponsorship by the IEEE Industry Applications Society. It was co-organized by the State Key Laboratory of High-Efficiency and High-Quality Conversion for Electric Energy (SKL-EQCEP), the State Key Laboratory of Offshore Wind Power Equipment and High-Efficiency Utilization of Wind Power, Changsha University of Science and Technology (CSUST), the UK-China University Consortium on Engineering Education and Research, and the IEEE PES China WIP. It was undertaken by the College of Electrical and Information Engineering of HNU.
