The International Youth Forum: Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Road Opened at Yuelu Academy in Changsha on the morning of April 17, 2017. 83 youth representatives from 65 countries along the route of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, UNESCO officials, experts, and diplomatic envoys to China attended the Forum.
On the afternoon of April 17, nearly 100 youth representatives attended parallel sessions of the Forum, and shared their views on the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage.

Background information:
UNESCO and the China National Commission for UNESCO in collaboration with the Municipalities of Changsha and Quanzhou, are organizing the "International Youth Forum: Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Road" in China, from 17 to 22 April 2017.
The Forum will promote youth advocacy on creativity and heritage protection and preservation, in addition to raising awareness among duty-bearers of the importance of youth full engagement in promoting peaceful coexistence and sustainable development. (Source: en.unesco.org)
