The 14th International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement (ICCC 2015) was convened in Beijing last October, marking China’s debut as an organizer of such an “Olympic” event for international cement circles. Shi Caijun, a professor of College of Civil Engineering of Hunan University (HNU) and distinguished expert listed in the National Thousand Talents Program, was the chief planner and organizer of the event.
The congress was sponsored by the Chinese Ceramic Society and the China Building Materials Academy. 1,059 participants from 46 countries and regions made it the largest session since its founding in 1918. Eight seminars and 24 sub-seminars were organized during the congress, with nearly 50 experts giving lectures.
