The 8th Hunan University Auto Culture Festival and the 1st Beijing Hyundai & Hunan University Racing Car Culture Expo raised its curtain on April 17. It was sponsored by the College of Mechanical Vehicle Engineering of Hunan University and co-organized by CYL (the Communist Youth League) Committee of the College of Mechanical Vehicle Engineering of Hunan University, HUAA (Hunan University Automobile Association) and FSAE Formula Racing Team of Hunan University.

As a brand event of HUAA, the Auto Culture Festival has been successfully held for seven sessions and has become an important platform for auto enthusiasts to know auto history, auto culture and auto technology. The simultaneous opening with the first racing car expo even attracted many racing car enthusiasts from different universities to share their experiences.

At the opening ceremony, the person in charge of FSAE Formula Racing Team made a detailed introduction about the team and FSAE racing cars, and also answered questions on the spot. HUAA also specially held activities such as Centenary Auto Culture Exhibition, RC remote control car drifting performance, tyres changing contest, slow speed slalom and designated parking contest, which give more fun to the participants in the festival. Staff from Beijing Hyundai also held an auto exhibition on campus and made special car purchase plans for the students with car buying intentions after graduation.

FSAE Formula Racing Team of Hunan University is the first college student team in China to participate in FSAE International and complete all contest processes. There have been over 400 undergraduates participating in the project. And now, nearly 100 students are, with the guidance of their instructors, dedicated to the engineering practice such as designing, manufacturing, contesting and publicizing for FSAE. The team have won prizes in various racing car contests both in and abroad.
