The 2nd Lotus Cup International Industrial Design Innovation Competition, which had lasted for three months, announced its results on the evening of Dec.19 in Changsha.

The emergency system for Freescue Monorail developed by Hunan University, the line phone and its interface design by Hunan University of Technology, and Hunan Perfume by Taiwan Shih Chien University were respectively awarded with the gold medals in fields of transportation vehicles and machinery equipment, digital products and service, as well as tourist culture and creative products. Meanwhile, such Hunan-based machinery enterprises as Zoomlion, Sany, Sunbird Yacht Co.,Ltd., Sunward, Shuiyun Brocade Embroidery Workshop Co.,Ltd. and Hunan Hualian Porcelain Co., Ltd. won the prestigious Enterprise Innovation Awards.

As for promoting better integration of industrial design competition with market, this competition has reaped fruitful results. First, Sany Group purchased copy right of partial award-winning works; second, the joint research laboratory newly established by Hunan University and Nokia issued internships invitations to prize winners; third, the Hunan Provincial Tourism Bureau granted the prize winners designer certificate of the "Cultural Tourism Products R&D Center".
