On June 7, the 4th International Symposium on Bio-Analysis, Bio-Medical Engineering and Nanotechnology was closed at Hunan University. More than 50 guest speakers including top experts from America, Japan, Sweden, etc., domestic academicians and scholars in these fields, delivered speeches at the meeting. Participants conducted exchanges and discussions on issues concerning the frontier development of bio-analysis technology, bio-medical engineering and nanotechnology.
Professor Leroy Hood who is a member of the American Academy of Sciences (AAS) and inventor of the DNA sequencer and synthesizer as well as protein sequencer and synthesizer made the first speech titled "The Experience of Introducing Engineering Science into Biology". Dong Shaojun, researcher of the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) introduced the latest strategies on the design of bio-intelligent logical sensor developed by her research team.
Other academicians of the CAS including Yao Shouzhuo, Zhang Yukui, Wang Erkang and Tian Zhongqun also made their research reports on the latest advancement of their research projects.
