The 11th Asian Design Culture Society (ADCS) International Symposium was held at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts between Oct. 28 and 31, 2017. Design cultural experts from Asian countries attended the four panels to discuss on three aspects: “Inheriting, developing, and innovating regional local design culture under the international circumstance”; “Inheriting, developing, and innovating the sustainable symbiotic environment design”; and, “Revaluation and regional revitalization of the tangible or intangible region-based design culture resources”.
Three papers written by the teachers and students of HNU School of Design were collected in the conference journal BULLETIN OF ASIAN DESIGN CULTURE SOCIETY ISSUE NO.11. The papers are: Structuring A Handicrafts E-commerce Platform Based On People’ Emotion Cognition and Their Consumption Decision-making by Xie Huiling, Zhang Duoduo, and He Yuwei; Research of the Pattern of Handicrafts E-commerce Based on User Experience Trip by He Yuwei, Zhang Duoduo, and Xie Huiling; and, Design Practice Research on Regional Culture for Community Revitalization- a case study of cultural industry development of Dong Brocade in Tongdao County by Guo Yinman, Ji Tie, and Liu Mengfei. Zhang Duoduo and Liu Mengfei presented their papers, and Liu was also the interpreter of the symposium.
