The 2018 China Universities Industrial Design Competition (CUIDC) award ceremony was held recently. Students from HNU School of Design won three gold, four silver, five bronze prizes, and six excellence prizes. The gold prize works “Chinese 3D head database and wearable product design aided system” was the only winner of the special award. Wang Haining, Ji Tie, and Zhao Danhua were awarded outstanding instructor award.
CUIDC was co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, Guangdong Department of Education, Guangdong Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. There were more than 40,000 entries from 29 provinces, including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. After preliminary assessment, re-evaluation, and final review, 10 gold prizes (including outstanding instructors), 35 silver prizes, 74 bronze prizes, and 191 excellence prizes were presented. One special award was selected out of the gold prize winners after an on-site presentation and defense.
