The2024 Spring Regional Economic Outlook: Asia and Pacificof theInternational Monetary Fund (IMF) was launched at Hunan University (HNU) on May 7.
The launching ceremony was hosted by the IMF Resident Representative Office in China,International Cooperation Center (ICC) Joint Council, and HNU, and organized by the HNU College of Finance and Statistics,International Monetary Research Committee (IMRC), and Research Center for Finance with Chinese Characteristics of HNU.
Cao Shengyuan, deputy secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, attended and addressed the ceremony. The lecturers included: Zhang Zhixiang, member of theICC Strategic Advisory Committee, chairman of IMRC, and former executive director for China at IMF; Steven Alan Barnett, IMF senior resident representative in China; Johannes Wiegand, chief of IMF's Asia and Pacific Department; Tristan Henning, economist in the Regional Studies Division at the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department; and Liu Jianjun, professor of HNU College of Finance and Statistics and former deputy director of the Department of Market Supervision Ⅱ of the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
More than 100 experts and scholars from financial administrations and research institutions as well as faculty and student representatives were present at the ceremony.
