Office of Scientific R&D of Hunan University is an administrative department in charge of scientific and technological affairs for the university. It is responsible for the management of scientific and technological research activities within the university. 

The office comprises five sub-offices: 

- Comprehensive Office

- Basic Research Office

- High-Tech Research Office

- Science and Technology Cooperation Office

- National Defense & Major Special Projects Office

Additionally, the Hunan University Technology Transfer Center, Targeted Poverty Alleviation and Assistance Office, Hunan University Science and Technology Association, and Shenzhen Research Institute are affiliated with the office for management purposes.
