Thomas Krens delivers a speech on the forum
On the morning of October 20, the “Contemporary Art and Publicity Forum” was held in Yuelu Academy. Elites from various art circles including Thomas Krens, emeritus curator of American Guggenheim Gallery, and Fan Di’an, curator of National Art Museum of China, probed into “contemporary art and publicity” in Changsha.
Guests and students from Hunan University gathered together to discuss problems and challenges faced by China’s contemporary art, which was definitely the exchange and collision between traditional and contemporary civilization.
At the forum, Thomas Krens gave a detailed introduction of Guggenheim Gallery’s development condition in the world, especially the prospect and construction plan of Meixi Lake Gallery. He expressed that Changsha’s attracting art activities have been acknowledged by more and more people. He said, “I am confident that a new era will start in Changsha now”.
