Hunan University encourages teachers to become shareholders by contributing their scientific and technological achievements to investment and it is stipulated that the party completing the achievements can acquire 70% of the equity stake in return, which efficiently promotes the innovation and application of scientific and technological achievements. On the morning of May 24, Chen Shuhong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Hunan Province, highly appreciated the practice while heading the Enforcement Group of the Law on Scientific and Technological Progress to conduct investigation and research in the university.

Through establishing extensive production-learning-research cooperative relations and building a college-enterprise cooperative bridge with enterprises, Hunan University has respectively signed cooperation agreements with 32 local governments and 469 enterprises in the country, and set up its R & D centers and experiment platforms in 53 enterprises.

The university has put forward that it will open its scientific and technological resources in a comprehensive way, encourage enterprises to build their technological centers in the school and build an innovative platform with the school as the center. Up to now, "Hunan University Xiangtan Electric R & D Center", Hunan University Changfeng Motor Engineering College and other scientific and technological innovative platforms have been established. Over the last 4 years, 2,612 college-enterprise cooperation projects have been concluded, and notable successes have been attained in the application of scientific and technological results.
