Related personnel from departments directly under the administration of the province headed by Chen Zhaoxiong, vice governor of Hunan Province, paid a visit to Hunan University on July 8 for a symposium on the industrial economic transformation of the province. They solicited the suggestions and opinions from the experts and professors. It is hoped that Hunan University will give full play to its role of the think tank in making decisions and offering consultancy, of the backbone in scientific renovation, and of talents cultivation in a bid to make greater contributions to the economic development in Hunan.

Vice Governor Chen debriefed the speeches of over 10 experts. They put forward many suggestions on better realizing industrialization with relevant functional sections, and explored deeply into the issues concerning improving the industrial development environment, upgrading industries, tapping new resources and energy-saving industry.

Mr. Chen Highly spoke highly of the profound contributions made by Hunan University to the economic and social development of the whole province, and hoped that Hunan University will further function as the think tank, take part in the research of policies on the hot issues and bottlenecks in the process of social and economic development, and offer high-level consultation for the government. Meanwhile, it should also play its role in taking the lead in scientific renovation and cultivating talents.
