In recent days, Hunan University has initiated three campaigns to invite alumni to return to Hunan Province, focusing on emotional connection, scientific and technological collaboration, and the influence of alumni. HNU alumni from all walks of life got together, learning about Hunan's investment promotion and business environment, recalling their university days, and sharing views on development.
A "HNU alumni return to Hunan" event was held in Changsha on January 31. HNU Party Secretary Deng Wei met with the alumni representatives attending the launching ceremony. HNU President Duan Xianzhong delivered a speech at the ceremony.
A symposium themed "HNU alumni return to make contributions to Hunan" was held after the ceremony. Kang Zhenlin, vice mayor of Changsha City, attended and addressed the symposium. President Duan presided over the symposium. Sun Wei, deputy secretary of the HNU Party Committee, and Tan Weihong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, were present.
Twenty-six alumni representatives also participated in the discussion, including Xiong Xiaoge, chairman of the IDG Capital; Xiang Wenbo, chairman of SANY Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.; Chen Yonghong, president of the Greetech Co., Ltd.; Zhou Chaonan, chairwoman of the Range Technology Development Co., Ltd.; Zeng Zhifeng, president of the Shineon Capital Management Co., Ltd.; Huang Yong, chairman of the Zhejiang Ziguang Weilai Group Co., Ltd.; and Yan Weibin, founder of the Ausnutria Group.
Vice Mayor Kang Zhenlin marked that the HNU alumni are a valuable asset for Changsha's high-quality development. He warmly welcomed the alumni to showcase Changsha and HNU on the global stage, and expected their support for the high-quality development of both the city and the university. Changsha government will make all-out efforts to consolidate the alumni's confidence with steady development and comfort them with considerate services, joining hands to strive for a win-win future.
HNU President Duan noted that it is HNU's responsibility and mission to contribute to the construction of a modernized new Hunan by motivating alumni to promote, serve, and invest in Hunan. HNU's 400,000 alumni at home and abroad are bright "calling cards" and treasures of the university. HNU is always proud of the alumni's achievements in their respective fields, their concerns on and support for the university development, and active responses to and participation in the campaigns. HNU will always be open to the alumni in all respects, and play its due role in implementing the important strategies of the country and making contributions to Hunan's beautiful blueprint for the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy.
