The Business School of Hunan University has recently been accredited by the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), making it the 16th in China and the 10th university included in the "double world-class project", to achieve triple-crown accreditation from EQUIS, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA). It is also the first in Hunan to achieve this status. Among the 16,000 business schools across the globe, the proportion of triple-accredited business schools is no more than 1%.
EQUIS is an international accreditation system that assesses the quality of management education. Administered by the European Foundation for Management Development, based in Brussels, Belgium, EQUIS is recognized globally as one of the most prestigious accreditation bodies, along with AACSB and AMBA. EQUIS is widely known for its rigorous evaluation process and high-standard evaluation system. The evaluation is based on criteria such as development strategy, teaching programs, faculty quality, academic research, student cultivation, alumni relationships, senior executive training, administrative support, resource allocation, and other aspects concerning business school management and development.
From April 22 to 25, a panel of experts conducted a four-day field visit to the Business School for EQUIS accreditation and highly commended the school's efforts and achievements in management education. The panel members included Prof. Thomas Froehlicher, former director general and dean of Rennes School of Business; Prof. Mayasandra Ravishankar, dean of the Business School of the Queen's University of Belfast; Prof. Wang Zhaohua, dean of the School of Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology; and, Donatella De Vita, global head of development of Pirelli and a member of EQUIS Accreditation Board.
