Bertrand Lortholary, French ambassador to China, visited HNU on September 25.

HNU President Duan Xianzhong met with Bertrand Lortholary at Yuelu Academy, with Vice President Jiang Chao in attendance. They discussed further enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Duan Xianzhong expressed his warm welcome to Bertrand Lortholary. He said that HNU has always attached great importance to opening up to the world. HNU has a long history of exchanges with France, frequently cooperating with French universities and research institutions in such fields as talent cultivation, cultural exchanges, and scientific research. This year marks the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations. Hunan University will take this opportunity to further expand cooperation with France and contribute more to the educational and cultural exchanges between China and France.

Bertrand Lortholary noted that HNU has long history and many important and unique traditions and cultures. France attaches great importance to the cooperation with the university. He expected to take this opportunity to further promote broader and higher-quality cooperation and exchanges between French universities and HNU, promoting the common development of both sides.
