The signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between Hunan University (HNU) and the China-Africa Institute (CAI) was held at HNU Office Building on June 15, 2025.

Deng Wei, secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, and Ye Hailin, CAI president and deputy Party secretary, witnessed the signing ceremony. Xu Helian, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC HNU Committee, HNU president assistant, and dean of the HNU Institute of African Studies; and Tang Zhichao, member of the CAI Party Committee and director of the CAI Office of Political Research, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. Xu presided over the signing ceremony.

After the signing ceremony, the two sides introduced their current research work on Africa respectively, and carried out in-depth exchanges on talent training, scientific research, and international communication. Both sides agreed that this strategic and comprehensive collaboration is based on a common mission, complementary advantages, and future-oriented vision. This will further advance talent cultivation in area studies, strengthen academic cooperation in China-Africa research, bolster China-Africa cultural exchanges and communication, and push forward the high-quality development of China-Africa partnership.
