The Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Yuelu Forum and the Second Forum on African Regional Economy and China-Africa Economic Cooperation were held at Hunan University on June 14th.
The forums were attended by an array of professionals, including African ambassadors to China, experts, scholars, and representatives from the business community. They gathered to explore new opportunities, challenges, and pathways for China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
Leaders and guests present and addressing the forums included: Hodan Osman Abdi, Somalia's ambassador to China; Zhou Zhangsheng, second-level inspector of the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce; Tian Feng, deputy director of the Institute of West-Asian and African Studies (IWAAS) of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and deputy head of the China-Africa Institute; and, Xu Helian, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC HNU Committee, HNU president assistant, and dean of the HNU Institute of African Studies.
Held amid further implementation of the national China-Africa cooperation strategy, the forums served as high-level dialogue platforms with an Africa-wide reach. The events were jointly hosted by HNU, the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Research Institute, and IWAAS' key discipline program "Dengfeng Strategy for World Economy", and organized by the HNU Institute of African Studies .
