The First China Labor Economists Forum Annual Conference, co-organized by Hunan University (HNU) and China Labor Economists Forum, was convened in Changsha from July 4 to 5, 2016.
More than 100 experts and scholars from Chinese and international celebrated universities were invited to attend the conference, including University of Southern California, Ohio State University, Australian National University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. The attendees probed into latest research on labor economics of both China and the world. HNU Vice President Cao Yijia was present at the conference.
The conference was composed of two themed lectures, two data presentations, and four sub-conferences. The conference papers covered key sectors of economics, such as labor market, rural and urban migrants, urbanization and development, education and human capital, healthcare service, urban and regional economy. Paper writers gave presentations at the conference, and celebrated economists were invited to give comments.
Survey initiators introduced key microeconomic data in China, including CHARLS, CHIP CHFS, CFPS, CEPS, RUMiC, and CCSLS, and discussed about current problems, and future development, application and cooperation based on survey data.
At the sub-conferences, attendees exchanged views on labor market, rural and urban migrants, urbanization and development, urban and regional economics, education and human capital, healthcare service, population and marriage, income and distribution, behavioral and experimental economics, family economic behavior, as well as business start-up, and entrepreneur and corporate behavior.
As an international high-end academic conference on economics, this conference provided a platform for Chinese labor economists to present and exchange views, so as to promote theoretical and empirical study of labor economics in China.
