The Fifth International Symposium on Biomedical Engineering, Bioanalysis and Nanotechnology (ISBBN 2012) raised its curtain in the Yifu Lecture Hall on the moring of June 8.
The three-day symposium was sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and jointly organized by the State Key Laboratory of Chemo/Biosensing and Chemometrics, School of Biology, and College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Hunan University. Lectures and posters as well as workshops were adopted to promote interaction and communication of academic researches in related fields, further propel exchanges and cooperation between academicians and scientists at home and abroad, accelerate technological innovation in the field, and intensify the development of bioanalysis, bioengineering and nanotechnology in China.
Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Wang Erkang, Yan Chunhua, Yu Ruqin and Yao Shouzhuo, and academician Dong Shaojun from the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS), as well as over 50 experts and scholars from America, Canada, Japan and Korea and 30 academicians, prominent young scholars on related fields in China, were invited to give lectures at the symposium. Nearly 50 young scholars gave presentations at the sub-symposiums.
