Themed as "Happy Life—Today and Tomorrow", the Fifth Hunan Mechanical Creative Design Contest for College Students was held on May 5 in Hunan University.

31 colleges and universities have attended the contest with 164 works, hitting the record of the number of contestants. The entries are all related to daily lives. Inventions such as automatically setting table and multi-functional entertainment baby carriages all well solved problems occurring in daily life. Automatically tea-making machine designed by students from Hunan University attracted people's attention.

The organizers said many of the entries have applied for patents, and some of them are selected by manufacturers and will be produced in large scale to serve our life.

The contest sets up the first, second, third prizes and the outstanding award. Hunan will select 17 entries to compete in the National Mechanical Creative Design Contest for College Students.
