The 2010 China Engineering Science and Technology Forum--Independent Innovation of China Auto Industry, initiated by the President of Hunan University Zhong Zhihua, was unveiled on the morning of Dec. 25 in Chongqing, southwest China.
The two-day forum is co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the Society of Automotive Engineers of China (SAE-China).
The forum brought together 1000 experts, including 22 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. They conducted in-depth discussions on the independent innovation, the new trend and problems of China's auto industry, striving to achieve sustainable development of automotive techniques and equipment.
Over 20 sub-forums were held on Dec. 25 and Dec. 26, including symposiums on new energy vehicles and electronics integrated control system, as well as the industrialization of electronic vehicles and infrastructure.
CAE President Zhou Ji and Deputy Mayor of Chongqing Tong Xiaoping attended the opening ceremony.
Zhou expressed his hope that this forum would pool the achievements and wisdom of all the attendees and boost the independent innovation of China's auto industry.
