The launching ceremony of Hunan University-Nokia Joint R&D Laboratory & the 2010 International (Changsha) Industrial Design Summit was unveiled in Changsha on Dec.19.
Following Tsinghua University and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Hunan University has become a third mainland university which forms partnership with Nokia. The cooperative move aims to promote the innovation of conceptual design of mobile phones.
Present at the ceremony were Guo Kailang, vice governor of Hunan Province, Professor Liu Keli, secretary of the CPC Hunan University Committee, Professor Tang Yayang, vice secretary of the CPC Hunan University Committee and He Renke, vice director of the China Industrial Design Association.
Guan Zhengneng, president of Taiwan-based Shih Chien University, Professor Eric Anderson, chairman of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and director of the Design School of Politecnico di Milano (Polytechnic University of Milan) were also invited to the grand occasion.
