On May 10, the Chenzhou Municipal People's Government signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation framework agreement with Hunan University in Changsha.

Prior to the signing ceremony, Dai Daojin, secretary of the Chenzhou Municipal CPC Committee and Xiang Lili, mayor of Chenzhou, visited the state-level key laboratories of Hunan University and investigated the scientific researches of the university.

According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out a five-year cooperative program in various sectors and establish a close city-university comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership. The two sides will jointly concentrate efforts on setting up the consultation service system, striving to win "two honors" for Chenzhou, that is, building Chenzhou into a major open city in the province and one of the central cities located within Hunan, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces, speeding up the new-type industrialization of Chenzhou City, upgrading the city's independent innovation capability and establishing the personnel training mechanism.

Mayor Xiang made his remark that the conclusion of the agreement marked the official establishment of the comprehensive cooperative mechanism between Chenzhou City and Hunan University. Zhong Zhihua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Hunan University, said that the concerted efforts of the two sides will surely make great contributions to the construction of "Two-Oriented" society and the process of the new-type industrialization in the province.
