Hunan University Asset Management Co., Ltd.,approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and incorporated in light of the Company Law of the People's Republic of China, is an exclusively state-owned modern enterprise. It was officially registered and established on May 27th, 2003. It is among the first group of pilot enterprises undergoing experimental restructuring launched by the MOE.
Hunan University Asset Management Co., Ltd. was formed through the restructuring and divestiture of the original Hunan University Baiquan Group Company. By the end of 2006, the company possessed 7 exclusively-invested holding companies, 8 shares-holding companies, and a total staff of 498 experienced professionals.
The company is engaged in the following major businesses, including the operation and management of the assets of Hunan University and stock rights of its outward investment; management of assets under its custody; enterprise operations management and planning; industrial investment; financial consultancy; mechanical electronics and chemicals; electronics & electricity; instruments and apparatuses; civil engineering & architecture; new energy-saving and environmentally-friendly materials; and researching, producing, selling, consulting, training, and servicing computer hardware, software and other related products.
The company also sidelines in the production and sales of trademarks and patterns, product mould design, mechanical and electrical equipment, hardware and electrical apparatuses, daily commodities, and construction materials containing no silicone.
The company shoulders two main tasks:
1) To hold the stock rights of the university-run enterprises on behalf of Hunan University; take charge of the operation, supervision, and management of this enterprises; and assume corresponding responsibilities of maintenance and appreciation of the assets,
2) To accomplish the task of restructuring the university-run enterprises into modern businesses.
The company takes stock rights as the bond, exercises the rights of investment benefits, decision-making, and general management over the enterprises affiliated with Hunan University. As such, the company increases the investment returns of state-owned assets, promotes the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, and better serves teaching and scientific research.
