The Lakehead University delegation led by president Brain J.R. Stevenson visited Hunan University on Nov. 20th, to negotiate with the College of Foreign Languages and International Studies about bilateral cooperation. Vice President of HNU Zhang Jing attended the meeting.
Dr. Stevenson gave an introduction to Lakehead University and conveyed a cooperation intention in language study program, Canadian students’ internship in China, and student exchange concerning various fields and majors.
Zhang expressed interests in the cooperation, especially at the critical stage of internationalized development for the university. He stated that it means a great deal for HUN to intensify exchanges and cooperation with international universities having advantages and unique features in certain fields. He hoped that the cooperation programs between Lakehead University and HNU College of Foreign Languages and International Studies will be carried out smoothly, and then promoted in other colleges and fields.
Prof. Liu Zhengguang, dean of the College of Foreign Languages and International Studies, discussed with Lakehead University about the details concerning tuition and teacher exchange program, and planed to sign an official cooperation agreement at the end of this year.
