The National Youth Science Camp in Universities (NYSCU) was launched in Central South University andHunan University on the morning of July 25. During the seven-day trip, over 100 high school students from Hunan and Guizhou will explore and experience applications of advanced science and technology. Promoted in 41 key universities in China, the camp aims at cultivating creative students of high potential in science and technology.
At the sub-camp of Central South University, 100 high school students will conduct intensive discussions with scholars, experts, academics and public figures on issues of science, personal growth, dreams and how to fulfill them. They will also carry out a series of practical activities such as visiting university enterprises and scientific practice sites, experiencing the Huxiang culture and university life. Students will even get some hands-on practice, using what they've learned to create things of their own.
At the Hunan University Sub-camp, 70 students will participate in on-campus activities exploring science and technology. They will attend distinguished forums and learn from models and through other practical investigations. In addition, they will also go off campus to learn more about Changsha and visit Changsha-based enterprises.
