HNU Vice President Li Shutao led a delegation to Japan and South Korea from September 4 to 11. He visited Waseda University, the University of Tokyo, Chiba University, Honam University of South Korea, Sungkyunkwan University, and Seoul National University, and paid a call on the Chinese Embassy in Japan and the Chinese Embassy in South Korea.
During the visit, Li Shutao held talks with Haruhiko Goto, vice president of Waseda University; Tomochika Tokunaga, dean of the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences of the University of Tokyo; Hiroaki Ozawa, professor of Chiba University; Park Sang Cheol, president of Honam University; Hanjung Lee, vice president of Sungkyunkwan University; and, Seong-Kyu Kim, vice president of Seoul National University. Li had in-depth discussions with the heads of these university on cooperation in such fields as summer programs, joint cultivation, dual degree, and scientific research.
The delegation visited the teaching buildings, laboratories, libraries and other teaching and research facilities in these universities, and witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between HNU and Seoul National University.
Relevant personnel from HNU's School of Foreign Languages, College of Biology, School of Mathematics, Library, and Office of International Cooperation and Exchange joined in the tour.
