The Third "Times Cup" Intelligent Automobile Race of College Students unveiled the curtain at Hunan University on June 26.
　　
The race attracts 73 teams consisting of 219 participants from Hunan University, Central South University, National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), Xiangtan University and so on. After fierce competition, ten teams including Hunan University and NUDT teams won the first prize in Hunan Division. They will take part in the national race to be held at the end of August in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi Province.
　　
According to Zhang Jing, vice president of Hunan University, the intelligent vehicle has a broad application prospect in moon exploration and unmanned search and rescue in dangerous conditions, and the automobile electronic industry is undergoing a rapid development. Focusing on the research of intelligent vehicle, the race is a creative technological competition involving such subjects as automation, electronics, machinery and computer, and disciplines of automatic control, pattern recognition, sensing technology, etc.
