The opening ceremony of the Central South District Model United Nation Conference 2011(CSDMUN 2011) was held in the lecture hall of Fulinshe Teaching Building on May 20, 2011. The conference was held by the Communist Youth League Committee of Hunan University and jointly undertook by the College of Law of Hunan University (originally the College of Politics and Public Management) and Association of International Relation of Hunan University.

Focused on the issues of “worldwide early warning and disaster relief security, management and construction of civil nuclear facilities, and turbulence in Mideast and North Africa”, it attracted 152 representatives from 17 colleges and universities such as Wuhan University, National University of Defense and Technology, Central South University, Hunan First Normal University, Central China Normal University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Xinjiang Shehezi University, etc.

During the two-day, discussion in the forms of free discussing, motion, organized moderated caucus, question and negotiation, the participants talked over the opportunities and challenges for the world and express national interest and standpoint.

The event is to nurture the courage to undertake the tasks for the world and human beings, perform obligations and responsibilities as citizens of the world and try to make the world more peaceful and harmonious.
