Hunan University established Yuelu Academy Development Foundation on February 28, 2017. Chairman of Changsha Yuanding Chinese Culture Institute Huang Peiying led to donate 10 million yuan to support the development of Yuelu Academy.

Yuelu Academy Foundation is the first college-based foundation of the university. It is open to all alumni as well as the society to raise funds. Aiming to promote Yuelu Academy’s collaboration with social-benefit organizations and individuals, the foundation funds will be used in scholarships and student subsidies, talent introduction, academic research, Chinese culture forums and training, publication, and academic exchange.

Secretory of the CPC Hunan University Committee Jiang Changzhong addressed at the donation ceremony. President Duan Xianzhong signed the donation agreement with Huang Peiying, and granted a certificate of donation. Chairman of the Hunan University Education Foundation (HNUEF) Zhang Qiang presided over the establishing and donation ceremony.

After the ceremony, Prof. Wang Shouchang from Peking University, also counselor of Yuelu Academy Development Foundation, and dean of the International Academy of Chinese Culture, delivered a lecture themed “Chinese Wisdom”.
