Hunan University and the Microsoft Cloud & Mobile Technology Incubator jointly established a cooperation base on April 1, 2017. It is Hunan’s first talent training base co-built by the university and business incubator. The two sides exchanged views on production-education cooperation, joint talent cultivation, and innovation and sharing.

The base will concentrate on “sharing” and “connection”. The university’s idle resources and the enterprise’s experience in business incubation will be utilized to connect students’ creativity, teaching and research teams, and enterprise resources. A Xiangpan Maker Center will be set up to integrate instructors from the university and start-up services offered by the enterprise involving incubation, financing, project analysis, media promotion, policy, and taxation. The university will provide and manage the work place and instructors, while the enterprise providing technological, financial and marketing supports. A long-term and effective collaboration is expected to be established to create an environment that embraces innovation, promote students’ practical ability, encourage start-ups, and achieve win-win results.

During the establishing ceremony, a roadshow was staged by eight students from College of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, College of Biology, College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, and Business School. It displayed catering, tourism, education, and internet projects initiated by undergraduates, postgraduates, and doctoral students, for instance, “close-me efficient note making App”, “fans-based ‘intelligent water life’”, and “Book-Travel” sharing platform.
