5 CAE Academicians Employed to Fuel HNU Development

HNU held a ceremony on Jan. 9th morning to welcome five newly employed academicians, and meanwhile organized a seminar on the 13th Five-year Plan (2016-2020) of College of Civil Engineering.

Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) academician Zhou Xuhong was employed as advisor to president, while academician Ma Kejian, Zhou Fulin, Nie Jianguo, and Zheng Jianlong as academic advisors of HNU. These five academicians and also alumni of HNU specializing in Civil Engineering, together with academician Chen Zhengqing working in the university, will offer advices to HNU’s planning in the coming five years and civil engineering disciplinary development.

Secretary of the CPC HNU Committee Jiang Changzhong and HNU President Duan Xianzhong presented HNU badges and letters of appointment to the academicians. Vice President Cao Yijia, Assistant President Yu Dejie, former HNU leader and professor of College of Civil Engineering Liu Guangdong, as well as heads of departments and colleges concerned attended the event. Vice President Han Xu presided over the ceremony.

HNU employs appoints these HNU-graduated academicians for a 3-year term, to invite their joining in decision making on strategic planning, important reform schemes, faculty development and training, disciplinary and laboratory enhancement, and key research projects.
