
New York University (NYU) Shanghai Vice Chancellor Jeffrey S. Lehman visited Hunan University (HNU) on Jan. 4, 2016, accompanied by personnel from the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Changsha Municipal People’s Government and BROAD Group. HNU President Cao Yijia met with the guests and talked about prospects for bilateral cooperation.
Cao briefed guests on HNU’s development, especially the HNU-RIT School of Design in Shenzhen, and expressed wishes to promote cooperation with NYU.
Jeffrey S. Lehman introduced NYU Shanghai’s core curriculum, and Interactive Media Arts (IMA) major in particular.
After meeting, Jeffrey S. Lehman visited Yuelu Academy, National Supercomputing Center in Changsha, and HNU School of Design.

NYU Shanghai was jointly established by New York University and East China Normal University in Jan. 19, 2011. It is also the first Sino-US joint venture university approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China with independent legal person status.
Vice Chancellor Lehman is an internationally acclaimed leader in higher education, having served as dean of the University of Michigan Law School, the eleventh president of Cornell University, and the founding dean of the Peking University School of Transnational Law.
