
China held a celebration rally to mark the successful launch of the nation's 2nd lunar probe Chang'e-2 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, on Dec. 20, 2010. Chang'e-2 was launched into the space on Oct. 1, 2010.

Members of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee's Political Bureau Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang attended the meeting.
Chinese President Hu Jintao delivered a speech.
The meeting was presided over by Wu Bangguo, who is also Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).
Cao Yijia, Vice President of Hunan University headed a delegation of Deep Space Exploration Research Center to the launching ceremony. The delegation was invited by the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and commissioned by the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education.
The delegation members included Prof. Chen Xu, vice secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee and Prof. Xie Gengxin, deputy director of the Deep Space Exploration Research Center and director of the S&T Key Projects Office of Hunan University.
Prof. Lu Jianhua, director of the Measurement and Control Technology and Communication Engineering Center (Tsinghua University as the leading institute), was commended the outstanding contributions award.
The delegation also met by the state leaders before the meeting.
