A signing ceremony of the Intelligent Carrier System Innovation Center was held at HNU on June 30. The center is co-constructed by the Hunan Department of Industry and Information Technology and HNU. Cao Huiquan and Peng Tao, respectively director and deputy director of the Hunan Department of Industry and Information Technology, Duan Xianzhong, HNU president, and Ding Rongjun, dean of HNU College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering and also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) were present. HNU Vice President Wang Weibin presided over the ceremony.
Academician Ding is assigned as the chief technical expert of the center. It has a full-time faculty of 10 teachers and 20 engineers and management assistants, and more than 70 postgraduate and doctoral students.
The center will focus on digitalization, electrical power, and intelligentization of delivery equipment, and be in line with the national plan, to probe into intelligent equipment in four areas – ocean, mine, express, and high-performance electric drive system for delivery equipment. Meanwhile, it will enhance intelligent control technology innovation; speed up construction of the intelligent delivery system pilot scale test base; develop controllable intelligent software system and device; boost commercialized use of the intelligent delivery system equipment; and, solve the bottlenecks in key technology and core device integration.
