24th HNU Sports Cultural Festival Opens

HNU held its 24th Sports Cultural Festival, also the HNU Sports Games, at the track and field in South Campus on October 28 and 29, 2023.

Deng Wei, secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, attended the opening ceremony and announced the opening of the festival.

Cao Shengyuan,deputy Party secretary and disciplinary secretary, Sun Wei, deputy Party secretary, and Lv Yong, assistant president, attended the opening ceremony.

Persons in charge of the departments of undergraduate student affairs, postgraduate student affairs, and Youth League Committee, and all colleges and schools, were present.

The opening ceremony of the Sports Cultural Festival featured a formation performance and a fitness run, aiming to promote public fitness. The sports games included a total of 37 events, divided into two categories -- track and field events and fun events. These events included sprinting, long-distance race, fitness running, high jump, long jump, shot put, tug-of-war, group rope skipping, side-by-side running, and football juggling relay. More than 1,000 undergraduates and postgraduates from 28 schools and colleges of the university competed in the games and challenged themselves.

The College of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering won first place with the highest total scores in the Group A men's and women's events, and the School of Design won first place with the highest total scores in the Group B men's and women's events.

The College of Biology and other five units were awarded the Advanced Unit of Mass Sports; the College of Electrical and Information Engineering and other five units won the Sports Game Contribution Award; and, the Academy of Educational Sciences and other seven units were awarded the Sports Ethics and Morality Award.
