The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) recently announced the list of the 2025 "High-Starting Point New Journal Projects" under the second phase of China's Excellence Action Plan for Science and Technology Journals. The scientific journal CAR (English version), initiated by Hunan University, has been shortlisted.
As an English-version engineering and technology journal, CAR journal focuses on interdisciplinary areas such as transportation, advanced manufacturing, automation control, vehicle design and manufacturing, electronic and electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, and new materials. The journal is scheduled to start publication in 2026, with the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) 2097-6933.
Professor Ding Rongjun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and dean of the College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering at Hunan University, serves as the editor-in-chief of the journal. The editorial board consists of internationally renowned scholars, including Professor Wolfram Volk, academician of the German Academy of Engineering.
Relying on the national-level research platforms such as the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology for Vehicle, Hunan University will fully support the journal's development under the principles of "meeting national needs, leading the disciplinary frontiers, and serving industrial development." Moreover, it has established partnerships with world-class publishing platforms, including Wiley Online Library, Web of Tech, and Youke Publishing.
