Recently two automotive models recommended by Hunan University won prizes at the Fifth China Automotive Model Design Competition, hosted by Society of Automotive Engineers of China and undertaken by Changshu Municipal People’s Government.

It is the first time for Hunan University to participate in the competition. Of the two models, one produced by Li Dongjie of College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, Xu Chao from the School of Design and Wang Xiaodi won the title of excellent group design award, and the other designed by Zhang Xin of School of Design won the best creative design award. Professor Xie Hui of College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering won the honor of Excellent Instructor.

The year 2013 is the 60th founding anniversary of China’s auto industry. After years of development, the competition has become the largest in the field of automobile creative design and most authoritative national event in China’s auto design industry, and automobile culture industry. The competition attracts many celebrities in design field and lots of young designers from automobile enterprises, professional institutes and colleges and universities.

The competition is a platform playing a vital role in cultivating automobile design talents, showcasing automobile creative design and providing opportunities for everyone with a car designing dream to demonstrate their talent.
