International Forum of Automotive Traffic Safety Held

The 16thInternational Forum of Automotive Traffic Safety (INFATS2019) was held on November 14 and 15. A total of 180 Chinese, American, French,Dutch, and German experts and scholars discussed the cutting-edge issues related to automobile safety.

Yang Jie, director of the Lightweight Department of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE-China); Wan Xinming, general manager of the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd.; and, Chen Wei, deputy secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, were present. Jiang Chao, standing committee member of the CPC HNU Committee and executive dean of HNU College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, presided over the opening ceremony.

Opening ceremony.

This forum was hosted bythe State Key Laboratory of Advanced Design and Manufacturing for Vehicle Body, and State Key Laboratory of Vehicle NVH and Safety Technology. The INFAT was initiated by Zhong Zhihua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and professor of HNU, and Prof. Yang Jikuang of Chalmers University of Technology. It was firstly held in 2000, and has become China’s highest influential international academic conference on vehicle traffic security.

Chen Wei, deputy secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, delivers a speech.

Chen Wei stated that, HNU’s State Key Laboratory of Advanced Design and Manufacturing for Vehicle Body has conducted fruitful research on vehicle structure and optimization, and vehicle traffic safety and passenger damages. He hoped to take this forum as a platform of sharing and exploration, to enhance exchange and cooperation, accelerate vehicle traffic safety research and related engineering application, and fuel an all-round progress of vehicle traffic safety technologies in China.
