The 2016 China Robot Competition was held in Changsha from Oct. 28 to 30.
Three Hunan University (HNU) teams, standing out from over 3600 competitors of 1200 university teams throughout the country, won one first prize and two second at the competition.


This was the first participation of the HNU Modern Engineering Training Center in such competition. The teams, coached by young teachers Fang Lu and Chen Haowen, made a good job in the robot martial contest and another two events.
This Robot Competition was composed of 17 main events, covering 35 items, namely, robot basketball, FIRA contest, service robot, traveling robot, medical robot, martial contest, dancing robot, engineering robot, athletic robot, elder-care robot, robot fish, submarine robot and aerial robot.

The China Robot Competition, China’s top robot technology event for science popularization, and an important platform for China’s intelligent manufacturing technology exchange and high-end professional communication, has entered its 17th session since its first launching in 1999. It was organized by the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), Changsha Municipal People’s Government, and supported by the automation major academic committee of the Ministry of Education, and the China OSS Promotion Union (COPU). Student participants were expected to advance teamwork, as well as their ability of expression and innovation, through this competition.
