The FSCA racing team of Hunan University (HNU) made a good result at the 7th Formula Student China (FSC) at Xiangyang, Hubei Province recently.

The team won champion in the events of liner acceleration, and endurance racing, and took second place in high-speed obstacle avoidance, and fifth place in figure-8 racing. It also won the third in ANSYS design and lightweight work. Its final score totaled 929.84, being the runner-up in the whole race.

71 racing teams attended this FSC, involving 1,467 competing team members and over 2,000 observers. The four-day competition consisted of eight racing events, namely, design, production cost analysis, marketing report, linear acceleration, figure-8 racing, high-speed obstacle avoidance, endurance racing, and fuel efficiency.


The HNU-2016 racing car in this event, the ninth generation of FSAE car, was self-developed, designed and produced by HNU FSAE team. Based on masses of experimental data and finite element analysis, the car was further improved in light weight, performance, and auto structure.
The Student Formula, reputed as “cradle of automotive engineers”, has entered its 7th session since first launching in China in 2010. It aims to advance college students’ comprehensive capacity in design, production, cost control, business marketing, and communication and ordination.
