The second Traditional Chinese Culture Ceremony for Global Chinese came to its award ceremony at Hunan University on the evening of Oct. 29. Provincial leaders Xu Yousheng and Ouyang Bin, and Secretary of the CPC Hunan University Committee Jiang Changzhong, attended the event. More than a hundred prestigious scholars and cultural personages were presented, including Zhang Qizhi, a distinguished ideological and cultural historian and educationist, Sun Ji, a well-known historical relics expert and archaeologist, and Chen Lai, dean of the Tsinghua Academy of Chinese Learning.

Zhang Qizhi was presented the Lifetime Achievements Award for his remarkable achievements in Chinese Traditional Culture study. Master Hsing Yun and the International Confucian Association (ICA) won award for their contributions for Chinese cultural dissemination overseas.

The second Traditional Chinese Culture Ceremony, focusing on cultural promotion and public benefit, was co-hosted by Yuelu Academy of Hunan University, ifeng.com, Phoenix TV and the Dunhe Foundation. It aimed to boost a sound development of Chinese traditional cultural study and dissemination, promote and develop Chinese traditional culture, and encourage Chinese people’s cultural based confidence, by means of “Internet plus Chinese traditional culture”. Since its opening this May, the event has selected 38 candidates for the three main awards, respectively focusing on achievements on Chinese traditional cultural study, contributions to cultural dissemination, and lifetime achievements.
