
China Nationwide Reading Research Center of Hunan University was established in Changsha on April 24, 2016.
The Center will be engaged in studying China’s nationwide reading, including citizen’s reading interest and habit, education on reading concerned, fields and integrated promotion of reading nationwide. Accordingly, it will probe into the mechanism and approach to develop national reading, so as to support the government’s decision making in the field.
“In three to five years, the Center will be built into a distinctive and influential think tank and educational base for China’s nationwide reading, ” said Liu Ge, chief of the Center and vice dean of College of Chinese Language and Literature of Hunan University.
At present, the research team members of the Center includes nearly 40 experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Science, Peking University, Central China Normal University, and Hunan University, as well as personnel in publishing, journalism, and cultural circles.
